in Eston.

(Jan 10) Amber Holland had an almost perfect week losing only one game during the 2010 Provincial Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Eston.  The team of skip, Holland, third, Kim Schneider, second Tammy Schneider and Heather Kalenchuk defeated Sherry Anderson, 9-6 in the Championship Final Sunday night at the Eston Curling Club.  Holland had earlier in the day lost to Anderson in the A1 vs B1 Page Playoff game, 9-4 giving Anderson a berth into the final and dropping Holland into the semi-final.  Holland rebounded beating Stefanie Lawton in the semi-final, 8-6 for another shot at Anderson.  Finishing with a perfect 5-0 record in the round-robin and first place in her pool, Holland outscored her competition 42-11 in the five contests.

In the A2 vs B2 page playoff Sunday morning Lawton beat Chantelle Eberle, 9-2 to advance to the semi-final and eliminating Eberle from the competition.

In the round robin, top seeded, Holland went unbeaten finishing in first place in the "A" pool with a 5-0 record.  Anderson defeated defending champion, Lawton, 6-3 Saturday night to finish with a 4-1 record, tied with Lawton.  However the round-robin win gave  Anderson first place in the "B" pool.

The event started in Kindersley on Wednesday but was moved to Eston after fire damaged the Kindersley Curling Club on Friday.

Team Holland will now represent Saskatchewan at the Tournament of Hearts in Sault Ste Marie, January 30- February 7th.

Holland also won the Marj Mitchell Award for sportsmanship and competitiveness voted among her fellow curlers.
